"Out of Darkness" documentary is now available at the Aframerican Book Store! Out of Darkness tells the untold history of African people and the African cultural contributions to the world. Recent Events

The second edition (March 2012) of "The Black Panther is an African Cat" is now available from the Aframerican Bookstore.  This is a collection of poems of exploration and testimony written by Wopashitwe Mondo Eyen we Langa (formerly David Rice) and published by the House of August Press.  The Aframerican Bookstore is a wholly owned independent African-American enterprise established in 1990.  We can help you discover works by emerging authors as well as older favorites.  Check with us for books written from African centered perspectives.

Mission

Our mission is to continue the historical role black bookstores have played in providing conscious raising literature about issues, history, and religion.  Self-development titles that we offer are very important because a people who know themselves usually do better about themselves.

 For immediate delivery, we stock a wide selection of new releases, popular mid-list, and mainstay titles, including self-published and small-press titles.  We accept orders to be mailed to persons incarcerated in U.
